Exciting new material will be added to the Big Welsh Challenge course in the next few months. Filming has been completed on the next eight units, which introduce language including the past tense and discussion of the weather.
The interactive course includes a soap-opera style drama, with scripts created by Pobol y Cwm script writers. The first four units followed single mum Si芒n as she went on a blind date. Now we will see Si芒n's relationship with Ed blossom - and there is intrigue as Mrs Evans's holiday photos show her with a mystery man.

"It's been great fun working on this second set of units," says Catrin Brooks who plays Si芒n. "Only a week is meant to have passed since unit four. They say a lot can happen in a week in politics - even more can happen in Si芒n's life!"

Learners are guided through the grammar and language in on-line tutorials with Welsh tutor Si芒n Jones and Big Welsh Challenge presenter Dewi Pws. It follows the framework set by the WJEC's entry level Mynediad course.

"We've had such fantastic feedback from the public to the first four units, and there's obviously a great demand for the next instalment," says Stephen Morgan, the producer of the Big Welsh Challenge on-line course. "We're hoping to edit the new material in time for it to go live by the spring."
Some of the feedback to the first units:
"I have just completed the four units on the Big Welsh Challenge Course. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning Welsh on this site and find it an excellent way to learn the language."
