Welcome to this year's new Green Room for general chat about anything at all that you want to talk about!
There is also a quiz every Monday night run by other board members:
鈥 Questions are posted every Monday at 7:30 pm.
鈥 Your answers should be posted on the thread between 8:30 - 8:50 pm
鈥 The results are announced at 9pm
鈥 The winner sets the next week's quiz, and the contestant with
the lowest score receives the Wooden Spoon
鈥 Rules are 鈥撯淣o search engines鈥.
Hope to see you here and for continuity, a link to the previous Green Room:
Yay!!!!
Love it, Turner - and I've brought a handful of scatter cushions for people to start getting comfy:
Aaaaaaah, ta for that Mal... I'm still aching from my first post-Christmas-self-abuse run...
Speaking of which, provisions

What a small world! I used this company to try to revive my aging sofa by renewing the foam in the cushions.

Now that's what I call a well stocked bar
Evening all
Wotcha Mal - thanks for opening a new Green Room
and of course,
Ooo how lovely a new home, we should have a party. Bidie get yer big jugs out and your sausage rolls.
I see some of you have already taken advantage of the facilities.
Lovely bar Turner.
Evening Holly, Cake and Maxibaby - I am a bit of a collector of cushions, all I need is more space for more furniture to chuck them on
The new premises are shaping up wonderfully

Excellent idea Mal and what an honour to have your name heading the thread, think it's the first time one of us mere mortals has done this.
Uh oh, we've got competition:
Holly, but I don't think I am the first, if I recall right the hosts started creating the GR threads only about four years back? I'm not a massive thread-starter though, so it *is* rather nice to see my name in lights
Uh oh, we've got competition:

ROTFLMAO....wonder how long that one will last

Thanks for the invite.
I love it.

I don't think that one will last long introducing controversial topics like a certain footballer

I don't mind the controversial topic, it's the stench of testosterone-gone-wrong that bothers me in there...

We've had alternative green rooms before but they don't really last, you can talk football, F1 etc on the sports thread so nothing new there.
Watching Broadchurch tonight, looking forward to it, the first series was soooo good so hoping this will be too.
They are saying Harry the lizard off Death in Paradise isn't real.
Off now peeps, have a good evening - and ta for not eating me alive
Good to see peeps migrating from Ye Olde GR
the stench of testosterone-gone-wrong 听
yeah, there is one hell of an assumption that football, cars, bikes etc are only interesting if you're a chap
I never saw the first series of Broadchurch and have watched the first half hour of the new run, but I can see a synopsis of Series 1 might be useful before I continue...

Night Turner, don't be a stranger.
...have a great evening yourself, Turner, see you again *still waiting for that wavey smiley*
I must go munch my supper now, keep the new home fires burning
Looking at the posts so far it does feel as the Blue Room thread notes (now hidden) that the Green Room is a bit girlie
So since I didn't take part in the 2014 Green Room I thought I'd knock on the door and walk in with my Bruce Willis vest on (that's if It's okay with everyone else)

It's not just for girls Johnny, welcome Bit eccentric at times but fun and best of all empathic and full of good advise.
Oooooh - this is nice!
LOVE the drapes. And cushions to match. You HAVE been busy, Germ.
Just done some on line shopping, using up Christmas gift money, and managed to get a nice China figurine which was half price (拢140 down to 拢70) and then got some more off as I had a voucher to use with the firm.
I have little time for those 'crinoline ladies' standing about with fans, flowers or dance cards. And of course they do not do a 'name' one for Bidie..... I like figurines who are reading (or trying to read and being interrupted) so I was very pleased to find this

I'm feeling happy now (here's the German version of happy to make everyone else happy)
Hi Johnnymol. Everyone's welcome in the GR. 'Tis a place to to relax and have a bit of a chinwag so it's good to see you.
Just come off the phone to my mum. They're in their Wales house at the moment, and she was telling me they have put their house on the market with effect from today. I'm sure mum is delighted as she finds the journey from Kent each they go very tiring / traumatic. I know Dad will be utterly gutted though. The end of a bit of an era

Cake, it's very sad but for the best I feel.
Great video Johnny, my favourite music of the moment and I have them quite frequently to some's annoyance. Here's a favourite from the past I bored everyone with.
Oh I feel better for that.

Good evening all.
How could you miss me off the list of male posters holly I thought I was your favourite?
End of an era cake or perhaps a new beginning? Will they move closer to you?
What a shame, cake. Hope there is a happy outcome: change in life, is inevitable, unfortunately.

Keeping a dog, there is more to it than you'd think.
A lot of the folks don't seem to manage. I'll stick to birds.
I am off so good night all, sweet dreams.
Cake, it is a huge decision probably not taken lightly. It is for the best but saying goodbye is never easy.

Life's an adventure Cake........Even for those of us who should know better. Therefore, something different from the norm is sometimes welcome. Moving can be stressful but it can also re-invigorate us, give us something to plan and sort out.
Onwards and upwards, but never go backwards
By the way does anyone think it's too late to have a cream slice

Never too late johnny.
Germ what a sad story, at least the owner left him with his favourite belongings and a place where he could be found.
You are right janne:
听
Although that is horrible, Germ, at least the animal was left where he would be safe and dry and found almost immediately. Too many dogs are just dumped in the countryside or left when the owners move house.
The SSPCA have been inundated with offers for him already and perhaps, if there is CCTV in the station, the person who left him will be IDd.

Some don't MITM, our Beau should have gone to other owners but as they asked the breeder if border collies needed much exercise she wouldn't let them take him, hence he came to us.
A very potted history of my parents' comings and going over the last 20 or so years for those not in the know ...
MrC and I bought our house off my parents in 1998. This is the house I had lived in since I was about 13. It had a 'granny annex' for my nan and grandad to move into. When my grandparents died, dad poshed up the granny annex and let it out for a while until he persuded MrC and myself to buy it from him. Which we did. Mum and dad then moved upstairs, but eventually also bought a house in Wales to be near my brother and his family as they grew up.
Ever since then, they have travelled between here in Folkestone and Wales every couple of weeks. Anything health-related is dealt with in Folkestone, so appointments are usually arranged accordingly, but mum has really been suffering since a bout of shingles last year. And now she has a blood problem and gets tired very quickly/ Sometimes she can't even eat.
Such a shame, but yes, you're right Holly and Janne. I'm sure it's the right decision, at least for mum.
But this has always been their main home so there's no problem them moving back here permanently.
This room's not as good as the old one. The old one had a view of the river out of one window and, out of the other, a woman that never remembered to close he curtains while getting changed.
So, gents, The One Show. Rita Ora's knockers. Top notch, or certainly not? You decide.
OK, ladies, you can chip in too. You'll all have an opinion for sure.

Let's hope your Mum will be better when the responsibility of the home in Wales is gone.
I missed the grand opening but well done Mal.
No one responded to my post with historic GR history lat week so won't bore with it again.
Not being petulant, just not been around much today.
Good Night all.

Speaking of "Top notch"
That reminds of a joke Joan Rivers once said about how if she had one more tummy lift it would look like she was wearing a goatee...
