I object to my TV licence money going to Jeremy Clarkson? Yet again he's opened his mouth and been disrespectful to people in this country, that at the end of the day are paying his ´óÏó´«Ã½ wage! He is rude and opinionated. And I want to know why he is still in a job. He's had more second chances than he deserves. If an ordinary person in an ordinary job did half the stuff he's done and said they would be out the door. Please give me an answer why he is still on the television?

I object to my licence fee going on sport, strictly come dancing, the voice, casualty and eastenders..... amongst other things. Life can be very unkind can't it?

In fact the more objectionable he gets the more some fools like him.

Presumably you had dislike issues with Jeremy Clarkson before last night's programme so, please give me an answer, why did you put yourself through it?

Looks like you're a tad uncertain there ...
But if it helps you any, *my* licence money can go to Jeremy Clarkson and *yours* can go ... somewhere else. Feel better now?

JC brings in far more money to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ than he is paid, and in any case I think you will find that he is not paid out of LF money ..
Why people like his antics I don't know but they are many only too prepared around the world to pay for viewing them......

I rather like Clarkson. He's always amusing, particularly when he's being totally un-PC.

And from here in Gloucestershire I'm delighted that some of my licence fee goes to Clarkson.
There are many other people and shows that I would prefer it was not spent on, for example:
Eastenders, antique shows, cookery programmes, football, David Dimbleby, Andrew Marr, The Casual Vacancy, Amanda Platell, Baroness Kennedy, anyone from Countryfile - I could go on for days.

Haven't you anything better to do?
Mr Clarkson and his pals pay for a lot of rubbish on the ´óÏó´«Ã½.
TG is the biggest single revenue generating programme on the ´óÏó´«Ã½.

Clarkson is the male equivalent of Katie Hopkins. He just comes out with deliberately provocative comments in order to generate self publicity. His relationship with the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is essentially the same as that of Adolf Hitler & Neville Chamberlain : he knows he can get away with doing pretty much anything as long as TG remains popular and generates money for the organisation.

I agree with you about his relationship with the bbc, and his self-promoting antics - hardly a novelty in slebs.
What he has going for him is that many people seem to be entertained by him and some of them also consider him witty and/or intelligent. I don't, he's a dog walking on hind legs, as far as I'm concerned.
Aren't different opinions wonderful?
Not really; but they're unavoidable.

I don't have a problem with JC per se, my issue is with just how completely uninteresting Top Gear has become.
Last night's episode spent almost one third of its running time on a piss poor single joke about Peugeot owners.
Just using the frontispiece of the Peugeot cars, from the 1968 504 to the early 90's 205/405/505, being half decent isn't then an excuse to offer up a film showing JC and JM touring round the countryside being complete idiots.
Even as a parody it was cringeworthy.
Thank Christ we can just skip the pointless bits using iPlayer.

What baffles me are those who watch ( and they do, which they betray by their objections to specific parts of specific shows ) in order to whinge and whine...Ìý
This has been explained many times before but I will repeat it.
Many people, like me, love cars and there are small parts of Top Gear that are fantastic (test driving a lamborghini in the hills of Italy etc) but there is so much crap (and very little to do with cars) that it is hard NOT to "whinge and whine", actually it is easy not to whinge and whine - don't watch (which is my default setting now).

I haven't watched the programme for years, it used to be about cars with a bit of fun thrown in, Clarkson was excellent though with his critique. Then it all turned out to be about Clarkson and his cronies and how silly they could take the programme.
It suits some but it's lost a lot of viewers, I'm just to old to appreciate schoolboy humour.

Well do you or don't you?
I doubt if he actually costs you anything, given the global success of Top Gear.
he is the best at what he does, and the formula for TG is an almost perfect TV format. In fact, it is probably the ´óÏó´«Ã½ show which ticks all the ´óÏó´«Ã½ boxes most.
Educate.
Inform.
Entertain.
And it pays. What more could you want? Other than to turn Clarkson into Noel Edmunds.
You're welcome to your decaff, alcohol and sugar free diet. The world likes its car shows delivered by people who love cars, and speak their minds.
Witch-hunting is such a dreary spectacle. And far more damaging to the hunters than the prey.
