Transcript

"If you got on, and were prepared to work, you got on, and that was it. Not like, I mean somebody saying, you must have 15 qualifications before you can open the door. You know if you were prepared to work. I mean I started work in Eastwood’s with a shovel, in the quarry digging the grit. I did all the jobs, but it did me good because all the men knew I’d done all the jobs. It didn’t do you any harm."
