Born in Morar, Invernessshire, Carol is one of eight children. Growing up in the rainy Scottish Highlands, Carol recalls weather being important at a young age. After gaining a BA in Commerce from Napier University, Carol soon joined the ´óÏó´«Ã½ as a secretary. Following a brief spell working in recruitment, she landed her first presenting job on a local cable channel, before joining . After this she went on to join as a weather presenter in 1998.

Carol’s presenting career spans almost two decades, during which time she has appeared
regularly across all of 's output on both radio and television, including , , and the live forecasts as part of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s coverage of the and . As the main weather presenter on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Breakfast, Carol has won the TRIC award for best TV Weather Presenter a whopping total of seven times – so the Glitterball trophy would be in great company on her mantelpiece!

Although Carol has taken to the stage for as part of the Newsreader’s ‘Rocky Horror Show’ and does a mean ‘Strip the Willow’ at Scottish weddings, she has no formal training when it comes to dancing. Carol considers presenting the weather to be one of the hardest broadcasting jobs she has ever done. She has broadcast from New York, the top of the Fourth Bridge and in Cyprus with the , but how will Carol fair in the glittery Strictly climate?

Beyond the television screen, Carol can often be found ensconced in a book, singing, dancing and driving fast cars. It’s obvious that Carol likes her thrills, but will she be stalling or speeding through to the Strictly final?
