An album of paintings depicting a Quaker household in the early 19th Century

Elaine Binning studied 'Valuation and Auctioneering of Fine Art' at Southampton. She worked at Sotheby's from 1988 in a number of departments. Since 1992, she has been valuing and auctioneering with Dreweatts in Newbury, specialising in furniture.

Since joining the Antiques Roadshow team in 1999, Elaine has recorded a huge variety of items from tea caddies to embroidery, bronze monkeys to chrome car mascots. However, one real highlight was an album of paintings depicting a Quaker household in the early 19th Century, which she saw at Stanway House, Gloucestershire, in 2009. They were very rare and gave exquisite detail about day-to-day life at that time.
