Mark’s passion for history led him to antiques. He was a keen collector before he turned to valuing and dealing, and nowadays his collecting habits keep his Brighton shop fully stocked!

As a collector, Mark developed a love of all things blue and white – distinctive blue and white transfer printed pottery of all types. He was at one time even the Honorary Secretary of the , a specialist collector’s club.

In the 25 years since he turned to the antiques trade, Mark has worked for some prestigious auction houses including as a general valuer and regional representative, and , where he began specialising in the ceramics department. Nowadays Mark works for himself as an independent valuer and auctioneer.
When he’s not busy at Flog It! valuation days, Mark enjoys throwing a party at home, especially since he’s improved his cooking skills with the help of his Spanish partner. He also regularly takes part in fundraising work for a number of charities.
