Charlie’s extensive experience as an auctioneer had humble beginnings. Fresh out of school, he joined a local firm of estate and found himself auctioning chickens! Thankfully he progressed from these to antique furniture, going on to establish his own auction house in Woburn.

After over 25 years there, Charlie went freelance and has travelled around the world conducting some pretty spectacular sales. His successful sales have run into millions of dollars, including items from a catalogue of Jimi Hendrix songs sold for $15 million to multi-million dollar cars. In fact, Charlie holds the record for the highest price ever achieved for a car sold by auction in the USA. .
When he’s not jet setting, Charlie can be found at home in Oxford indulging two of his other passions, cricket and amateur dramatics.
