Charles found a passion for antiques at a young age, going on to pursue a career in the auction world through University, spending some time working in UK auction houses, including Christies, before going on to set up his own auction house in 2005.

...as a lifelong Derby County fan, he makes to time to visit Pride Park whenever he can!

With an interest in all objects from the past, always asking the question ‘if an object could talk what would it tell us’, Charles feels the antiques world is an adventure, a journey into the unknown if you will, where you find surprises around every corner.

From his first purchase, a Royal Worcester figurine bought for 50p from his mother’s WI jumble sale, which went on to sell for £120, Charles was recently delighted to bring the hammer down - not literally! - on the sale of a Chinese vase at £650,000!

Away from the world of antiques, Charles spends his time with his young family, although as a lifelong Derby County fan, he makes to time to visit Pride Park whenever he can, and looks forward to taking the children along when they're old enough!
