Listen听听Listen to an interview with Sang-Young and hear the chant.

I'm nineteen years old and I'm a student of accountancy and finance at the University of Manchester.

The kind of song we usually sing in our football stadium in Korea goes something like this: 'Korea go fighting!' We're encouraging the players to play better. The crowd in Korea is very passionate about football and since we're the host in the World Cup this time we care even more about football. Men, women, young and old, we all love football.

As a kid, my Dad, himself a major football fan, took me to the football stadium and since I've come to the UK, I'm even more passionate. Football's probably my favourite sport and I'm actually going home to Korea to watch the World Cup. I've got three tickets so I'm really looking forward to that. As it's the first time for an Asian country to host the World Cup, I feel very lucky to be able to watch it in person.

Watching in the pub is not as popular in Korea though lately I've seen some Koreans watching the games on wide screens in the pub just like people do here. For me, I'll watch it in my friend's place where a whole gang of us will get together. This year I might even try the pub. I opted to watch the Korean / England game with my friends because I was a bit concerned about English hooligans in case they'd start to make trouble. We had a great time because we cheered a lot and when we scored we screamed and generally went wild.
