Song: Vamos Argentina Country: Argentina Chosen by: Cecilia Hermida
听听Listen to an interview with Cecilia Hermida and hear the chant.
Our World Cup Chant says, 'Come on Argentina. All these people are supporting you and we want you to win.' It triggers a huge emotional feeling inside almost impossible to describe. It's even more intense when there's loads of people singing together.
Argentinians are passionate football fans and crazy with it. We love to sing and make a mess after a match. There are loads of songs, each one used at different times, either to cheer up the team if they're slacking or praise them when they're playing well. Football's especially important to us now given the harsh economic crisis in our country - it helps us escape from our troubles and celebrate our successes.
When Argentina plays the whole country paralyses because everyone gets together doing barbecues, drinking and supporting our team. If we win, then of course we go out to the pub after to celebrate. Here in Manchester where I've been studying for the last year, I'll gather with friends and my expectations for Argentina in this year's World Cup are very high, especially when we play England.
Go, go
we are going to win
cause these noisy fans are not
going to stop cheering you up!
