We contacted Bespoke Bathing via DNA Consulting which had been dealing with Bespoke’s affairs closely. It said that Bespoke Bathing Company has not traded since 28th February 2024.
It said it could confirm that the director of Bespoke Bathing Company Limited instructed it on 13th March to assist him in applying to dissolve the company [Bespoke Bathing]. This required DNA Consulting to circularise all known creditors and that it could further confirm that the wording of the letter was approved by Mr. Ellis [Director of Bespoke Bathing].
Bespoke Bathing Company Limited was incorporated on 24th February 2012 and began trading (for nearly 13 years) soon thereafter. It traded actively and successfully from that point and at its peak it employed between 30 to 40 members of staff and subcontractors. In common with many businesses it suffered dramatically during the Covid lockdowns and consequent economic downturn and did not recover to any degree after the lockdowns. Mr. Ellis secured considerable funding following the lockdown in order to allow the company to continue trading, for which he remains personally liable.
Following a period of sustained difficulties, the director took advice from an insolvency practitioner on 9th February 2024 and ceased trading on 28th February 2024. As there were insufficient funds in the company to finance a formal liquidation, DNA Business Consultants Limited were appointed to commence the process of dissolving the business.
Mr. Ellis said that he is genuinely sorry for financial difficulties and distress caused to customers, but feels that the cases highlighted by Watchdog are unfair as they only consider one side of the actual events.
With regard to Bespoke Mobility Bathing Limited, this company has never traded and there is no intention of it trading in the future.
It said it was not in a position to comment on any individual cases outstanding.
Following our circularisation of creditors, an application to dissolve the company was made at Companies House on 17th May 2024 and is currently pending.
