Dream find:
My dream finds on the road show would be either a portrait miniature by Richard Cosway R.A. (1742-1821) or a drawing by one of the Pre Raphaelites such as Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones or Leighton.

Suzanne joined Phillips Fine Art Auctioneers in New Bond Street, London in 1993 where she became Head of Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures. In 2001 she wrote the catalogue for an exhibition with loans from the Royal Collection, based on her extensive research into the life and works of 19th Century watercolourist Thomas Hartley Cromek held at the Holburne Museum, Bath and Harewood House, Yorkshire.

In 2017 Suzanne joined Chiswick Auctions in London as Head of Fine Art specialising in British and European Fine Art from the 18th to the 20th Century. Now, she works as an independent consultant advising auction houses and collectors. The excitement of discovering forgotten and lost treasures and researching their provenance has always been a thrill for Suzanne.

During her career she has uncovered many exciting works including a pair of previously unpublished pen and ink sketches by John Constable which were found under the bed of the late playwright Christopher Fry by his son and had come from the collection of the great drawings expert Leonard Duke in the 1950’s. She most recently catalogued over 900 drawings and watercolours from the collection of the late art dealer Cyril Fry whose gallery in Jermyn Street, London was a mecca for collectors and connoisseurs from the 1960’s-1990’s.
