2 December: Shut that door

We had a piece on this week's programme about tornado chasing and thought we'd do some chasing of our own with a little bit of help from you. So, have you noticed much wind in your area? Although this is the same question my GP once asked me when I went to see him, complaining of terrible chest pains, our request applies more to tornadoes, gales, gusts or just a bit of a draught blowing under the living room door.

Talking about a draught under the door, I once had a huge argument with some fella about what you call the thing you throw down on the floor to block said draught. He said it was called a snake whereas I always knew of it a sausage. I think the posh name is a draught excluder but it's not something you see in houses nowadays and I mourn its passing.

Anyway, what we need you to do is stick your head out the window and check the wind levels according to the Beaufort Scale and keep us posted so we can track the possible emergence of the elusive tornado.

Thanks to tornado chaser Roger Coulam who started this all off. Also on this week's show Christine Simm told us what it was like to discover she was a foundling. Octogenarian body builder Charles Eugster told us his philosophy of life. Tom Parker Bowles revealed his inheritance tracks and Kate Rew tried to sell us the joys of outdoor swimming. Safari Cast took us up up and away while studio guest Justin Cartwright kept our feet firmly on the ground and poet Attila the Stockbroker held us suspended somewhere in between.

Oh, in case you were wondering, my GP diagnosed trapped wind. Never knew wind could be so painful but a course of Gaviscon put me right again.

All the best,

JP
