Lorde highlights

Counting. Down. The. Days.

It has 11 tracks

So that’s nine we haven’t heard yet, get innnnn.

However there were way more than that to choose from

Answering fans’ questions on Twitter, Lorde wrote, “We have a ton of amazing leftover songs that just didn’t quite fit inside the world of Melodrama.” But can we hear them, anyway?

Jack Antonoff had a lot to do with it

The Bleachers and fun. singer, who has previously written tracks for Taylor Swift, is listed as a writer and producer on both Green Light and Liability – and it seems there’s plenty more where those came from.

Writing on Twitter after dropping Liability, Lorde said, “Jack truly pushed me to a place I’d never been with this album.” That doesn’t sound like he only worked on two tracks, now, does it? And, when you consider Jack spent his birthday last year in the studio with Lorde, we’d say they must have had a lot of work to do.

Lorde鈥檚 synaesthesia influenced the album art colours

Like Pharrell and Charli XCX, Lorde has synaesthesia, which – in her case – means sounds and music will trigger her to see or feel certain colours.

With Melodrama, the violet, midnight blue and pink she saw when making the album have gone into its artwork, which was painted by artist Sam McKinniss.

There are no featured artists on Melodrama

So that’s 11 songs of pure Lorde? Count. Us. In.

We鈥檒l be hearing more songs soon

Lorde promised fans on Twitter that a “lethal dose” of Melodrama was “coming soon”. She also mentioned “beautiful insane moments” and that the next song to drop is her favourite of all-time.

As if we weren’t excited enough.
