Welcome to week two of Saturday Live. Fi will be back blogging tomorrow but while she's enjoying the sunshine (or more likely haggling over the hangers in TopShop) the team and I have been thrashing through ideas for this week's show. Many thanks to everyone who's got in touch so far.

early morrnings....
it's 7.28. although you will now be able to tell how long it takes me to type - given that this post probably won't be published until about 7.52. anyway - if you are up at this thankless hour on a Saturday morning then huge greetings and sympathy to you.
-
nerves, caffeine and cheese
So this morning whilst out on my daily early morning constitutional I was greeted by my neighbour Jamie, hanging out of his bedroom window, shouting 'Heard the trail Fi - sounds almost good'.
-
The Last Pilot
It's the last pilot this morning (that means a dummy run for those of you who may not be all that media savvy). Lots of nerves as usual but worst of all the catering staff have failed to bring tomato ketchup for the bacon sandwiches! I hope they get it right when we do it for real next week.

Meet the Poet
We feel that Saturday morning isn't quite right without some iambic pentameter to help it along. What do you mean you have never felt that way? Settle back and feel the pleasure in your frontal lobes.
Each week we'll have a new poet in the studio to cast an artistic eye over the week's events.
Our Poet-in-Residence will also impose metrical order on events as they unfold on the programme.

one week to go...
Ok, so tomorrow we'll be making the last pilot before the reality of a proper tansmission comes upon us next Saturday. The excitement is palpable, although if you can feel it too then you are way too close to your computer terminal and you should back off. I've just got my security pass to work and can actually access the studios, which is a bonus, and a good sign I feel. I'm writing this in a very empty office though as the entire team has decamped to the room with the big chairs on the 5th floor for a meeting with the Controller to find out what this programme is about. You may feel it is a little late in the day for this kind of thing to be taking place - and that thought has crossed our minds too - but I promise that as soon as i know anything i'll pass it on to you. This is all good news, the bad news is that the local eaterie where everyone gets their lunch from has today been serving Cream of Corn soup and the office smells of a combination of wet vegetables and sadness. I am finding it hard to work in these conditions.
Oh Happy Times
Speak to you next Saturday
