Nuclear Engineer - Bristol
Derreck is a 27-year-old nuclear engineer from Bristol, with a PhD in Fracture Mechanics. He also has a black belt in judo, speaks three languages (English, French and Spanish) and is a keen rugby player. Although Derreck now works as a nuclear safety engineer, he has always dreamed of being an astronaut. Among his formative memories of space are the astronomy packs he shared with his grandfather, and the time he met Sir Patrick Moore aged fourteen.
