Quantum Physicist and Ballerina - London
Merritt is a 28-year old professional dancer who is also currently completing a PhD in Quantum Optics at Oxford University. She graduated in Physics from Harvard University before moving to the UK. She is also an accomplished ballerina, and has danced with the English National Ballet, Zurich Ballet Company and the Boston Ballet Company. Growing up under Californian skies, Merritt used to go stargazing with her father and sister. That began her love for the unknown and her constant quest for knowledge. She works hard to combine her two passions of ballet and physics and now can’t live without either: regularly doing ballet exercises in her physics lab, and including ideas from physics in her own contemporary dances.
