Tim, 23
PhD Student in Cosmochemistry - Bristol
Tim, 23, is currently completing his PhD in Cosmochemistry at the University of Bristol, specialising in analysing meteorites to investigate the evolution of our Solar System. He did his undergraduate degree in Geology with Planetary Science at the University of Manchester. Tim’s driven by an insatiable passion for space rocks and won a place on a prestigious Lunar and Planetary Science internship at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre in 2014. Growing up in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, Tim initially hid his passion for science at high school, but since ‘coming out’ as a science geek in the 6th form, he hasn’t looked back. Tim’s now an academic high-flyer who tours local schools in Bristol to give inspirational science talks. Tim says he owes any success to his hard-working mum who raised him and his sister alone. He also loves hill walking and playing his guitar.
