Welcome to the page for 大象传媒 Radio Northampton.

Of course Des O'Connor was one of our more famous evacuees, but is there anyone out there who remembers him? I would love to hear from you, and of course we are chasing him for his story!

I hope you are browsing the site, and enjoying the memories posted there, not just by the people of Northampton, but across the whole country, and beyond.

I have spoken to many people on their war time memories, and some of them who didn't see active service seem to think their memories are not important enough to be recorded. This is not true!

One woman worked on Wellington Bomber repairs in Northampton, another man remembers building air raid shelters in Overstone Road in the town centre, another man remembered being taken to see the plane that came down in Gold Street. ALL the stories we gather are of interest for generations to come. Each one is important and unique to you.

There are several ways you can contribute. If you want to, you can input it directly onto the website via your home PC or any computer via the internet. If you don't have a computer at home, you can use one at a library. If you prefer to contact us at Radio Northampton, call the CSV Action Desk number 0845 30 55 852, and leave a message. We will ring you back and arrange for your story to be taken.

You can also e-mail me at janice.stevenson@bbc.co.uk

I look foward to hearing from you!

Janice Stevenson
