In a triangle the difference, in degrees, between the largest angle and the middle angle is the same as the difference between the middle angle and the smallest angle. What is the middle angle in degrees?

60 degrees. Suppose the angles are a°, b° and c°, where a > b > c. Then and so . Hence . Since the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180°, it follows that and hence b = 60.
