Today Puzzle #776
Puzzle No. 776– Monday 6 July
Last weekend my daughter Ellie and I went for a 15-mile bike ride. We both ride at 10 miles per hour. After 10 miles I got a puncture and had to walk my bike the rest of the way. Ellie hadn't noticed my predicament and rode on ahead. When I finally arrived Ellie said that she'd been waiting for the same length of time as she'd been riding. What was my walking speed?

2.5 mph
At 10mph the 15-mile ride takes Ellie one hour and a half, and she waits that time again so I have taken 3 hours. I got my puncture after one hour so I walk the remaining 5 miles in 2 hours, ie at 2.5 mph
