Nearly 50 countries around the world today celebrate Children's Day, which coincides with the UN recognised World Milk Day. To celebrate, a primary school teacher enters a room with 10 cartons of milk for his class and presses a button. Within seconds, he instantly loses 10 kilogrammes. How did he lose the weight? As hint, this key thing is to think about the type of room he enters and the scientific meaning of weight.

The room that the teacher enters is a lift. When the teacher pressure the button, this causes the lift to begin to accelerate downwards. This acceleration temporarily changes the apparent weight of the teacher. This effectively helps the teacher to lose 10 kg in seconds!
