"There is no substitute for one-to-one advice from a听top medical expert and that's what we offer our callers and emailers. But for each person who calls to ask for help, someone else phones in to pass on a tip or a suggestion -听it's a great programme to present."

Haemophilia and bleeding disorders
Haemophilia is a lifelong inherited genetic condition, which affects females as carriers and males who inherit the condition.
About 6,000 people in the UK have Haemophilia, and one third of these will have no previous family history.
Haemophiliac patients bleed more than usual due to the absence or deficiency of proteins that cause clotting.
Cuts or grazes are not a problem but there can be internal bleeding into joints, muscles and soft tissues.
If left untreated, this can cause severe pain and even disability.
Haemophilia is usually treated by replacing the missing clotting factor; This can be injected on a regular basis or in less severe cases, at the time of a bleed.
Severe bruising and nose bleeds can also be a symptom of another clotting disorder: Von Willebrand's disease.
If you have questions about haemophilia, Von Willebrand's disease or other related bleeding disorders, do contact us.听
