Ears

The ear is a miraculous organ through which we hear sounds, locate our position and keep our balance. But things can go wrong – including hearing loss, ear infections, and disabling conditions such as Meniere’s disease.

Millions of us have some form of hearing loss, and it often gets worse as we get older. Having this sense impaired can be very distressing.

Perhaps you are finding it hard to catch the words of someone if you’re in a noisy environment. Or maybe you’ve had an infection that’s left you with a hearing problem.Ìý

In the last in the current series of Check Up, Barbara Myers puts your questions about ears and hearing to her studio guest is Professor Tony Wright, Director of the University College London Ear Institute.
