Great stuff, Fred, this is surely the right way to go! Your own house is your best advert. You'll soon be inundated with work once word gets around. Good luck and all the best, keep us updated!

Fred, Fred, Fred, you have become a tad negative. In your last post you complain about the people you worked with. Now you indicate that Island trades' people are not reliable. Hope you are not going to start complaining about the weather as well.
Tormod from somewhere positive.
Tormod, sorry about that I'm not knocking the locals it just comments I had from other people who want work done here so I took the view to try and help, as for the Auto Centre well I have no comment. Jill...I will send you a pic of the van by email just sorting all my tools out now thanks for your kind comment.
Fred from Very Positive
Glad your are positive. I am sure that you will be very busy as there are plenty of properties that need maintenance carried out. With regards to publicity: why do you not put up a picture of your lovely house and if your van happens to be parked in the drive so be it. Good luck with your enterprise.
Tormod from reassured about your positivity.
Fred's never anything but positive, that's what makes his island sojourn so enjoyable. Island folk do not have a monopoly on perfection...neither do any of the rest of us. And as for the weather...

Fred, Good Luck. As Jill said, your own house is the best advert. We have all enjoyed the picture of the work you have done there.

Good luck, Fred. You deserve it. Are you putting pictures of your house in various stages of progress to show possible clients? Such a folder might be a good marketing tool. Do you have a name for your outfit yet? Property Maintenance would not do your offered services and your abilities justice, I should think. Serious suggestions, anyone? And then the graphics on your van and calling card ...

Go it Fred, you obviously have what it takes. I wish we could get you over here to fix the scullery. You don't need luck, you need clients and I'm sure you're going to get them!

I look forward to it Fred, and once the better weather comes, I can get out'n'about a bit more myself. That's what you call "Positive Thinking"
Tws from The Other Side
Fred - just been reading through your blog and you've worked wonders in your house. Good luck with your new venture, it's the kind of thing that's needed here for the small jobs that the big boys don't turn up to! PS - do you do plastering??
Christine from somewhere else in Lewis
Christine, I can do most everything? except roofing, but I know a man who can?
