Just received an e-mail from one of the first island bloggers, , directing us to an regarding 大象传媒 moderation of these blogs and posts being deleted for bad language.
Here's some clarification.
No posts have been rejected for content or language. (Impeccable behaviour so far:-)
One of mentions the fact that he was (wrongly) accused by the system of using bad language. This was simply our profanity filter wrongly identifying acceptable words as swear words. Our developer has now resolved this issue.
As regards moderation, all posts are checked to make sure they don't contravene 大象传媒 policy. Posts which are libellous or inflammatory for example, will not be published.
If your post is not published, you will be advised by e-mail as to the reasons. Your post will never just "disappear", if it hasn't appeared on the site within a few hours it usually just means that it is waiting for a member of staff here to quickly check there are no policy issues.
A full set of policy rules are available on request. Please email us at
islandblogging@bbc.co.uk if you would like a copy.
I'll also post some of the house rules on this blog later on today.
