Landward returns to our screens in a brand new time slot this evening. Among tonight's features are a report on how global warming is affecting Gigha and a look at wine production on mainland Orkney. The series, with new presenter Nick Nairn, starts on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two at 7pm.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s keen to find out how Lerwick Trevor and Carol are getting on in France! Carol has kindly sent me photos from their meetings and I’m pleased to be able to show you them here!



It’s great to know that Island Blogging is helping to create good friendships. Fair gives you a warm glow, doesn’t it? ;-)

We have become aware that several Island Bloggers appear to be having problems with posts and comments. We are looking into it and hopefully normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!

Rest assured that TWS archive, minus the sweary words, remains intact!

We’ve had a flurry of new bloggers this month - 9 in total – and from across the country too: four from the Northern Isles, three from the Western Isles and two from the Argyll & Clyde islands.

I’m particularly pleased to see new bloggers from Argyll & Clyde but, at the risk of repeating myself, I’d really like to see some more! I know summer is a busy time for a lot of you, but if you’re a regular reader of the blogs please do think about joining us – the is simple and we’d love to hear from you. Who knows, perhaps your island could eventually become as prolific as Luing! ;-)

Of course, new bloggers from the Northern and Western Isles are also very welcome!
