Island Blogging is the New Black!

Today we launch our re-vamped site with its smart new design.

Take a look at our brand-new Gallery featuring our new prize of Tobermory's favourite son, the 'Mull Historical Society'.

This is the first of a bunch of changes to the site after feedback from users, but look out for more developments over the next few weeks.

yours
Mike

Is that you on the homepage?

YET TO REALLY EVALUATE CHANGES BUT CAN TELLYOU IT'S A LOT QUICKER! SORRY, CAPS LOCK STUCK ON MY KEYBOARD!!

On the Island Blogging states that "Mull also has ... and of course Scotland's second highest mountain , Ben More ."

Ben More is the highest hill on Mull, but at 3169ft, it can't claim it to be Scotland's second highest mountain. Scotland has lots of mountains over 4000ft high. We don't want the Trading Standards folk to start complaining. Maybe the Island Blogging bit about Mull could be amended?

Still deciding if I like the new style more or less than the old. I agree with Jenny though - it does seem a bit quicker to load but that might just be because I've switched over to FireFox from IE6.

I love the new design, much better.

Wow! I don't log on for a couple of days and then I don't recognise the place!
The home page looks better, should be easier to check new blogs.
A new niggle has appeared though. Some blogs are too wide for my screen and I'm sliding the bottom bar back and forth just to read all the way across. Is my machine set up wrong or do I just need a 19 inch monitor now?

PS To all bloggers who pay by the minute, I always write my blog in Word offline and then log on and paste it in, much cheaper, (until/if we get broadband (I know, that will cost me much more and eat more time!))

Yep! Good web design dictates that a page should be viewable on an 800x600 resolution screen, which it ain't.
