Yes Blog Blog, the new gallery is slow. We don't have the luxury of broadband on Coll - yet?
And you keep away from me. I've heard of cat fur gloves and I'd prefer to be taken by a snowy owl than skinned.. thanks Ming

Me again....I have just tried to look at the galleries but Microsoft tells me that I need 'Flash player' to download the images. I used to have Flash but hadto remove it because it caused problems on my system. Many people have problems with Flash, so maybe a gallery which you don't need Flash would be an advantage? You diden't need Flash before as I recall.

Yes the new gallery is noticably slower than the old one. Presumably it's pre-loading the images before displaying the thumbnails.

Mike from Glasgow,
In my last blogg, sometime ago now, in the comment section, you enquired of Tiree.
Well winter is over and I fel that I've experienced worse. Now with the Spring being with us the crofters and farmers are still busy feeding the cattle.Black bales is the accepted method now(ensiled hay). This is a far cry from the hay stacks and the corn stacks of former years. The lamb season will start soon.
It looks as if Tiree is moving in the right direction these days, with a new head-mistress in the High School and civil service jobs being transferred from somewhere else. This is going to swell the population and boost the economy.
Quite a bit of house building these days and a few more await construction. The outcome of all this is going to be interesting.
The:Tiree Development Project continues to plan for the future and every avenue is being searched for the prospect of jobs and industeries.
No doubt you'll be interested to know that Wind Turbines are in prospect and according to the directions being taken we expect them to be part of the scenery in the future This is something which Tiree looks forward to.
We are all keeping our fingers crossed that there is an upward trend in the offing and a little progress is something to look fordward to-definately.

We've made some changes to the Gallery, so you shouldn't have to download the Flash 7 player and it may load quicker now. Please let me know if you notice an improvement.
thanks
Mike
