All this week Mull is featuring on 大象传媒2's Springwatch (Monday 30th May to Thurs 2nd June 2005 8-9 pm 大象传媒2). Simon King will be broadcasting live from the white tailed eagles nest on Mull.
According to the blurb I have:
"The chick(s) will be about 6 weeks old and we expect to see the adults bringing in food (gulls, rabbits, fish and carrion) and carefully feeding the chicks. The chicks will be part downy part feathered and they will squabble over their food spreading their wings over it to prevent the other from getting it. These majestic birds will be soaring over the stunning views of Loch Frisa along with many other birds of prey from kestrels to golden eagles. Eagles are often mobbed by crows and ravens and sometimes even buzzards.
The history of the pair we will be filming is very well known. The male is called Skye because he hatched on Skye 94. The female is Frisa and hatched on Mull in 92. Her mother was the first reintroduced eagle to breed successfully in on Mull in 1985.
The 大象传媒 will be working in conjunction with the Mull eagle watch made up of the RSPB, Scottish Natural Heritage, Forestry Commission and local volunteers.
