Empty Your Mind...

Hi Mike, Talking about old bloggers, what's happened to Nic in Coll? I thought someone on Coll would have passed comment on the excellent review that the Coll Hotel's restaurant got in the SOS magazine on Sunday past there. Here's the link http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/spectrum.cfm?id=1805522005

What a good idea, I will empty my mind. Perhaps Mike could ask the programmer who is working on the missing comments issue to make an appearance in the blog and comment on why the problem hasn鈥檛 been fixed yet? We are heading into the third month of this problem and it is getting rather embarrassing because of all of the reassurances we have been given. It is clearly the programmer who should be answering the question rather than poor Mike. Perhaps Mike can ask the programer to comment on this issue? Duncan gave me the idea because he is our B.T. mole and has kept us us up to date on the installation of broadband - he is doing the work. Duncan is far more help than the B.T. helpdesk - thanks again Duncan.

How's Broadband coming along, Pondie? A friend in the village went live yesterday and I'm expecting BT tomorrow to do ours. Cheers Gary

Hi Gary, I shall not torment you with tales of the speed in Tobermory but lets say its fast enough: communications 1.7 megabits per second, Storage 202.5 kilobytes per second. 1MB file download 5.1 seconds. It will be great when the season comes to an end and there is time to use the thing. At the moment it鈥檚 only getting used for emails, the bbc listen again facility and for checking up to see how Mike is getting on with the 鈥渄isappeared鈥 issue.

Well I finally got broadbanded last Thursday. Seems to work well enough but it'll never be fast enough. Cheers Gary

Hi Gary. You got your broadband and I see that all of the missing comments on islandblogging have been restored. Good.

Are they? Excellent! I shall have a browse and remember times gone by. Cheers Gary
