There's a (relatively) up here with some great pictures of the Gigha Raft race amongst other things here, but the next one has the theme of 'Water' and we're kicking it off with a great photo of a Basking Shark off Tiree sent in by Ian and Linda Clephane.

Thanks - what a picture!

New prize to be announced early next week, in the meantime let's be having you pictures...un-watery entries need not apply.

Great photo Linda! The marine life off the island coasts is one very good reason (amongst many) for a visit. Look forward to a giant "jelly"!

Wow! Excellent photo! Basking sharks used to be so common in the Kilbrannan Sound (near us) that there was a shark processing factory along the coast where they were processed to extract the oil. Thankfully those days are gone now. Still looking forward to seeing some out in the Sound again though. Cheers Gary

That shark looks massive, how big would you say it was?

John from London

John, We were in a 45ft boat and it must have been at least half the length of the boat and followed us around for ages. There was also a dolphin that day who came up and literally winked at us but I turned the camera off at just the wrong moment.
