Great news, our airport started construction on 28th Sept, except no work has started and I believe planning permission hasn't come through yet. I personally would welcome more people coming to live on Coll, but I hope they don't want to build in Arinagour, the only place with mains water, because, less than seven years after building an EU funded state of the art water treatment plant, and having only connected one more house to the main, Scottish Water are refusing to connect any more properties. And, at last, we have a ferry on Sunday so the kids can come home for Saturday night, or parents can live it up in Oban. Thanks Calmac, less publicity but more effective!

Great news for Coll, however it's official, Mull can't cater for the new air-ambulance so we don't benefit from the new air-hub in Oban. But depleting the service to Mull is definitely progress, well done Scottish Executive.......

Okay okay, I thought it was abit too much like actual good news to be true.

I know you said ok but as Jack comes from Arran he should've thought before opening his mouth. Young people can only stay here when they leave school if they are prepared to live with their parents indefinitely thanks to the obscene house prices. With the average cost of a two bedroom flat starting at offers over 拢140K and generally going for around the 拢200K mark no one can affor to buy here unless they earn over 拢50K a year and with tourism being the main indusrty here that's unlikely to say the least........
