Bird Flu Tests On Orkney Birds

Here's hoping that this is routine test of "suspect" birds proves to be nothing.
"We can confirm a number of birds died on a poultry premises on mainland Orkney.
A vet officer visited the premises yesterday and took samples for laboratory investigation of suspected avian notifiable disease, which could be a strain of Avian Influenza or Newcastle Disease."

The big question here is how the farmer managed to take a holiday. The government and the supermarket chains are trying to starve farmers out of existence yet here is a man who is blatently taking holidays. What is going on? Before we know it there'll be doctors and nurses in hospitals N HS dentists on tap,and no one out of work! What's going on?
