Coast: The Outer Hebrides

Tonight’s edition of Coast focuses on the Outer Hebrides. Here’s the programme information ….

β€œAt the outermost edge of the British Isles, we discover the struggle to survive in this harsh but stunningly beautiful myriad of islands big and small. Crystal clear water and powder white beaches conceal a history of human tragedy and joy.

From hauntingly beautiful abandoned islands like St Kilda, to the truth behind the classic Ealing Comedy Whisky Galore!, the team discover remarkable and surprising human stories. A newly unearthed historic golf course, and the world's largest onshore wind farm offer hope of new wealth, and a forgotten chemical works reveals an ingenious past.”

Coast is on ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½ TWO tonight, Thursday 7th December, at 8pm.

Is this a repeat? Has there been a similar named programme? Am I getting Deja- Vu again? I am sure that I've seen something like this before, oh maybe coast to coast perhaps? I'll watch it and see anyway.

The wind farm was very appropriate - a real turkey for Christmas. The only way that this scheme should take place is if every home in Lewis gets free power in perpetuity for the damage done to the skyline of Barvas.

Great thinking calumannabel, I'd sign up for that, forget what we'll leave for our children and our childrens children ( assuming they do the business ), I sign up for everything that's free, which is one of the reasons I'm sitting here with that faraway look on my face.
