Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

I’m beginning to sound like a broken record here but I just want to let you know that, due to problems at this end, the publication of some comments is still being delayed.

A solution is in sight, however, so hopefully this situation won’t last much longer.

Thanks for your patience.

Keep plodding-on Anne,it will all come right in the end.

Will this comment be in a queue? Does it need a ticket? Can this comment barge its way to the front of the queue? I'd like to think that I could push one or two of the F***ing C*ts comments down the queue, go on, let this comment in before any of FC's, go on, you know it's the right thing to do. Humans before animals. I can't remember why I came here now. Nevermind, I've done something, at least...

Tws from Comment Waiting Room

Do the comments go through a different doorway to IB than the blogggers weblog postings? Does that question make sense? I am interested in how the whole system works. Maybe one day we will find out?????? Or should I say, " maybe one day I will find out" then forget it, or not understand it. Ok nothing more to add, going back to bed now ....

Tws from Just Remembered

Is there a two postings or less checkout on the site?

Speaking of comments... I'm vexed to report that within less than 24 hours of 'coming out' on my Island Blog I recieved homphobic comments. I do hope this is against your 'house rules.' I very much want to continue writing, but i must say I'm a little hurt. I thought IB would be a 'safe space' where I could express myself freely. I do hope homophobic comments will not be a common occurance on this site.

Discouraged Donna from Shetland Islands

I had a look at Discouraged Donna's blog and could not find any homophobia. Is this going to be The Only Gay In Island Blogging? I have never seen homophobia here, I think, and if there is, or you believe there to be, then ignore it. One persons Homophobia is another persons Scripture. But who am I to offer an opinion?

Tws from Searching for Homophobia.

You're looking lovely today Anne, had your hair done, or maybe it's just the way the sunlight catches that beautiful sparkle in your eyes. I have something to ask of you, emm, could you please, please, please, NOT put FC's most recent blog as a featured blog? Thank you. ( the please, please, please bit works on points of view, with that Barry Took chappy, so why not here?) That's a stunning top you have on, and not everyone could get away with that, but it's really you, superb, thank you again Tws....

Thewhitesettler from The Croft Lewis

Donna, what's your definition of a homophobic comment?

Ruthodanort from Unst

Hi Donna, I'm sorry you're unhappy with the comments sent to your new blog. It's my hope that, on Island Blogging, everyone is free and comfortable to write about what they wish. It all helps make a lively and diverse community. Any comments which are clearly offensive will not be posted, as is stated in our House Rules. However, many individuals, and not just the Island Bloggers will find the gay community a subject area which will provoke strong reactions, both pro and anti. I don't believe the comments posted so far are homophobic and, in fact, the balance of the IB community in response to your blog seems to be at worst neutral and, at best, in your favour. If you would like to discuss this further please don't hesitate to email me at islandblogging@bbc.co.uk or reply via this IBHQ page. I look forward to reading your forthcoming blogs.

Anne from IBHQ

Feline-ophobic Tws, that's what you are.

Ruthodanort from Unst

I appreciate the flattery, Tws, but I do like cats so I can't promise anything...

Anne from IBHQ

Thank you for your support at this difficult time...

Flying Cat from Inn Anticipation

George W. likes cats, Charlie boy likes cats, and I would not be surprised if Ahmadinejad likes them as well (of course, he'd only like Persian ones). I rest my case (as TWS might say, what was that case?!).

mjc from NM,USA

Good game Anne - The blog with the most comments today is probably the one about comments being delayed! Whether people prefer to have relations with men, women or sheep is up to them, as long as all parties consent, but IB would be very dull if we can only ever wrote in support or agreement of other bloggers. So, just a thought, but have you considered making FC's latest contribution the Featured Blog? That cat is consistently good value.

Annie B from the usual

Homophobia is hateful and wrong but as a person not born in the 80s, I am (not much but I could be) vexed by Discouraged Donna's comment in her blog that : "I feel my generation (those of us born in the 80's) have a more open minded view on sexuality." is blatantly ageist and could be offensive to liberal-minded older people. It conforms to stereotypical views of older people. Discrimination is sometimes in the eye of the beholder. Relax Donna. If you're comfortable with who you are you might not see homophobia where it really doesn't exist. Good luck in Shetalnd and with the blogging

wheesht from Lewis

the solution can be pretty low tech y`know...Anne and the Beeb can hire wee mannies tae be videoed and put on YouTube holding placards wi` oor comments on them, just leave up a permanent link and we`ll find them nae bother. And for us women here, the mannies could be chosen for their eye candy appeal...what dae ye think, Anne, ony chance o` that working there? :-D

Hermit from Sanday

purry-purry-wurry-purry-mrraowie-PURRY!!!!!!!! Tws, didja see what she did there, didja?

Flying Cat from gleefulkitty.com

Oooooh, Anne, I wouldn't like to be in your shoes now, not for a million years!

Ruthodanort from Unst

If I had asked you, pleaded with you even, to make FC's blog a featured blog, would you have done it then? This is Thewhitesettlerphobia, and I demand an apology. Oh and your bum looks big in that!!! I'm off in the cream puff..

Tws from Unflattering Anne

Sorry, Tws, I know I shouldn't have, but it was too good an opportunity to miss. :)

Anne from IBHQ

i can't even say "tws weather girl" anymore--i had the cheek to mail him a photo of new kitty, poor man,we are a bit cruel to him sometimes(but we all love you tws)) xxxxxx

carol chauveau from where its b****y windy

Eh, no I never. And I am not going to go to gleefulkitty.com. You may be purring now FC, but I will have that last purr. I do not purr, so I'll be having the last laugh, or the only laugh.

Tws from The Long Arm of The Lawn

Anne: i bet you are in the state as me!! splitting your sides with laughter at tws's latest blog,i'm laughing so much i'm crying, its just SO funny! nevertheless i think FC won't be long at firing back!! everybody DUCK!!

carol from where its b****y windy

are there still gremlins at work?? i answered tws blog and am amazed that there are no comments--ok if mine wasn't accepted--but that NO-ONE has replied wow thats weird!!

carol from where its b****y windy

'course the comments were lined up, vetted, tagged, and ready to go. Anne sat on them because she wanted to make TWS sweat, the poor bu**er. Twenty four hours after the posting of what might pass for a killer blog (did you see Squidgy's mouse that TWS rented?), and not one comment. TWS was on the verge of catching that flight to Aberdeen to shake the roost....

mjc from NM,USA

Hello Anne, your looking lovely today, have you had your hair done? Now I wish to ask you a very small favour. As The Flying Cat has blogged again, and his featured blog is now old news, very old news, would it be possible to replace it. To be fair, I think that FC's most recent weblog posting should replace it. The photography is stunning, in fact I wouldn't mind at all if Fc's current blog was kept as a featured blog all year. This is the sort of well thought out blogging that IB should be encouraging, and I for one, would like to see more of this type of photography on IB. I leave this in your most capable hands, well manicured too. Thank you for your attention, your most obedient servant Tws... Cheery.....
