IBHQ Updates

Good morning Island Bloggers! Thank you for your patience recently in the delays in publishing your posts and comments. We have had a tidal wave of spam over the past month or so and are struggling to keep it under control. The silver lining is that our techie team are working on a spam filter which will hopefully be implemented within the next week or two. Again, your patience is appreciated - please just hang on a little longer and it will be worth it!

We would just like to apologise a bit for fpu's intemperate email. She was getting a bit over-excited at the idea of getting one over Tws on Friday. As who wouldn't!

You can do lots of lovely meals with spam, there's spam and egg, spam and no egg, spam and chips ( that's French Fries, just in case our friends over the pond are looking in, or is it Freedom Fries now?) and spam with no chips, spam sandwich, deep fried spam fritters, a delicacy in certain areas of Glasgow, and then there's spam and brown sauce, Is this classed as spam?

I think you are crazy even mentioning Spam on a site where Annie B posts regularly. She'll swamp you with recipes.

Publish and be spammed?

Annie B from the usual

Do we really need to know that the techie team are having spam fritters - now where's my reading glasses?

calumannabel from Chez Bentos Brue

Awright, Anne! Have a good week. Thanks to you and your team.

How you IBHQ folk stay sane working with computers is beyond me! I was a programmer for three years and I threw down the keyboard and became a helicopter mechanic. At least as a mechanic you can get your hands on the problem and wrench it out! Stay safe - don't go crazy with the computers!!

Mm... ceann cropic (stiffed cods' heads) with a terrine of Spam spread. A contemporary interpretation of a traditional classic.

Chrissie Mary had a little Spam. She baked it in some dough....

Moo - I'd love to hae a look at your C.V. Helicopter mechanic, firefighter, computer programmer, farmer, writer - talk about variety!

Ruthodanort from Unst

Ruthodanort: what Moo isn't saying is that she's really 85 years old. She must be, to have fitted all that in! You certainly have lots of background for your books, Moo.

Jill from EK

What? Ruthodanort, you want Moo to publish her C.V.? You wanna anuther booke? Give the lady a brake!!

Anne, whatever happened to the Flotta bloggers? I miss them all, including Lingman and his tall tales, not to forget the Flotta funnies and the Flotta booster who thinks the inhabitants of the other northern islands are wimps who can't take a whiff of snow without catching "double" pneumonia. We miss you all very much. Let's have some pictures of some dos at the community hall!! and comments ...
