New Year greetings and some housekeeping

Happy New Year to everyone who was on holiday over the festive period. 2008 is upon us and it's great that you've all been busy posting.

Now for a little bit of housekeeping news. Apologies for the recent delays in seeing submissions published or even wandering off into the ether! The technical glitches with the blogging engine appear to have been rectified so thanks all for bearing with us.

I know how frustrating it is when posts don't appear regularly. Island Blogging's recent affliction affected IBHQ's posts in the same manner as everyone else so we are aware of the problems and are doing our best to solve them. No, it wasn't an overdose of Christmas spirit as suggested by Island Threads!

If you have any queries or difficulties, please do get in touch: islandblogging@bbc.co.uk and I'll do my best to solve them.

In the last few days (this is Wed 9th Jan) I have lost comments on at least all these blogs - On Top of Ward Hill; CrofterBill; Muness Views; Acutely Curious; Hermit Life; Squidgy the Otter; Flotta School; Island Threads; Fair Isle in Stitches and Tws. These are just the ones I can remember. I suppose it doesn't help having random false fire alarms going off willy-nilly either! But it's not an excuse for iB rapidly going down the blogoshperic pan.

me too,i've sent off loads of comments,bvut not much seems to be coming through-sent off an e-mail with a snap of the day i did see the whales one day we did one day we didn't,but nothings came through that way either
