Spring is in the air?

Hello all

I've been in touch with some of you about the wandering comments so thought I'd update everyone on the situation.

Just as the first signs of spring seem to invigorate us all at this time of year, I've discovered that the same is also true of our blogging engine and the spam filter.

Work has been ongoing to make the whole moderation process smoother and to curtail those sprightly comments which have been taking time to appear on the site.

Your patience is appreciated in this as I'm only too aware how frustrating it is when comments don't appear immediately. As I've said before, the spam filter doesn't distinguish between bloggers and contributions from IBHQ have also been affected.

We are still trawling the outskirts of IBHQ each day to round up as many non-appearing comments as possible. This is something which we will continue to do until the heavy duty MOT is complete.

Comments

Carol, I suspect that some comments are never found, I have certainly posted a few that have escaped the daily round-up, and I imagine others have noticed the same. I agree with Calum, without the comments appearing promptly, the banter vanishes, and the whole point of the site is lost. We are losing the will to Blog!!

Timely and nice photo, Carol. A new (air or/and oil) filter? high-performance oil? additives, LOTS of them? How about sticking a St. Christopher medal under the hood?!

No, don't lose the will to blog. We've checked the oil and tyre pressure and are now looking at the carburetor to see if that helps.

Even technology is not immune from constant problems! Span is the bane of the Human race and I don't envy you your job!! Although missing comments are a drag we know you're doing your best and thanks for that! Have a great day!!

It must be a very old engine if it has a carb. Try the fuel filter, sometimes that can get little bits of cr*p stuck in it, just give it a good blow ( not like that, like this) Check the ignition coil, the leads, make sure they're all sparking, and if you still can't sort it out, trade it in for a new one at "Dodgy Daves Car Sales" Just mention my name, and you'll get a discount. Cheery............................

Good on you, Carol. Everyone knows how hard it is to tame the IT tiger. It took me 3 months to get my web site so it appeared when one googled it. Of course timelyness is desirable but there are so many damn gremlins about that even teh real proffs. get stumped often as not. Patience, dear IBlog friends!

Thanks for your kind comments folks. I do appreciate your patience.

Carol from IBHQ

My problem at the moment is that I can't figure oot if comments to my blog are goin astray, or just that folk are plain bored with it and have stopped commenting altogether!

Ruthodanort from Unst
