The best thing about the English language is the way one word can have two completely different meanings by merely shifting the emphasis...
Flying Cat from not entirely content
Why should the blogging community bother to help the 大象传媒 with an on line survey when the 大象传媒 cannot bother to devote enough resources to a simple, but much valued, service like Island blogging. I have said it in other comments but it bears repetition; if there is no spontaneity, there is no point. If you want us to contact you then do the decent thing open up the channel of communication we choose to utilise.

Rest my case Your Honour. Simple response took best part of 24 hours to appear.

FC - Not one o the most satisfying surveys to fill oot, I agree. I got a minute into it and gave up. And yes, Carol we understand and are grateful that you are doing your best, but I hope you are able to pass our dissatisfaction with current circumstances further up the chain of command, until someone with some control of the pursestrings listens.

Great minds...
Flying Cat from but will it make a difference?
Why not get everybody that wishes to comment to sign in before they comment? Then only signed in comments will appear, and it will be easier to distinguish between spam & ham ( the ham being, comments) will it not??
Tws from The Croft Lewis
In an effort to distinguish between the 'spam and ham' as Tws puts it, we have to test the proposed solution first. Lifting the spam filter off doesn't even bear thinking about at this stage as there could be all sorts of things appearing. Think I need to lie down in a cool room.
Carol from IBHQ
TWS, I could offer my fingerprint, or the data can be had from the Quai des Orfevres (among other places).

Have a virtual soothing paw Carol. But please don't mind if I email to complain again...
Flying Cat from rummaging for missing comments
'The door is always open' as they say. I'll even make a virtual cup of tea but can't supply the biccies I'm afraid due to past dietary misdemeanours.
Carol from IBHQ
Has FC been emailing you to complain Carol? Tut, tut, tut, pussy boots. No wonder you can't get the comments sorted with FC and ( although I hate to do this) Ruthodanort emailing you every hour. It's not " Points of View" you know people ( and cat) it's Island Blogging, which is a moderately safe haven, whether you want it or not. So BEHAVE, or else...............
Tws from The Dark Room
That's wis telt FC!

caro at IBHQ--never mind the bikkies-thats crofetrbill's job!
carol from the one in france
Surely we're not taking this lying down Ruth?
Flying Cat from free speech for all
Crofterbill is not up to doing biccies (bikkies, whatever): lying there in his hot tub, he is deaf to entreaties. I think Diamond., Ardnort. and Crofterbill belong to the one blog a year category; Claremont is more prolific: he does one a month, and, once he starts a posting it takes the hot cocoa before bedtime to get him to stop banging on the keyboard.
mjc from NM,USA
Carol from IBHQ, I don't see why you could not SUPPLY the biccies: you don't have to eat them yourself. Anyway, forget about biccies: flapjacks are what I hanker for. How is your flapjack recipe, Carol from IBHQ? Hopefully you use only demerara sugar!!
mjc from NM,USA
Not at all FC, all for one and one for all. You n me together, we'll sort tws oot, no bother. (And dare I say it, whatever Carol's done to the spam and ham seems to be having an effect.)
Ruthodanort from comments appearing thick and fast?
What a beautiful and yet probably impossible dream...
Flying Cat from ancient music archives
I notice some improvement, Carol from IBHQ. Thanks.

Will the results from this survey be made public?
