Kaito Nakamura was a powerful businessman from Japan and the father of Hiro Nakamura. He was the CEO of Yamagato Industries. At first, he appeared to think Hiro a fool for suggesting he had superpowers, but it became clear that Kaito has known all along and was himself part of a previous generation of heroes. Fifteen years ago, Kaito worked for the organisation behind Primatech Paper. He was the one who told Mr Bennet to adopt Claire, on the provision that if she exhibited any abilities, that she was to be turned over to The Company.

Kaito ended up joining forces with Hiro and training him to use a sword in his quest to stop Sylar.

At the start of Season 2, Kaito was with Ando in New York waiting for Hiro to return. However he received a death threat in Kirby Plaza and died. He was thrown off a building by a mysterious assassin.
