Season 1

Ando discovered that in the future he was killed by Sylar. Ando went after Sylar but was easily overpowered, dropping the 9th Wonders! comic book that depicted Sylar being killed by Hiro. Sylar laughed at the suggestion that Hiro could ever defeat him. Hiro arrived just as Sylar was about to kill Ando and teleported him back to Japan. Hiro then teleported back to Kirby Plaza to fulfil his destiny and kill Sylar.

Season 2

Ando returned to New York and waited for Hiro to return, along with Hiro's father Kaito, but there was no sign of him. Ando eventually discovered that Hiro had sent him messages secretly hidden in Kensei's sword. Ando had the unfortunate task of telling Hiro his father had been murdered. The pair found evidence to suggest Adam Monroe was the murderer - and they also uncovered Adam's plot to destroy the world.

Season 3

Desperate to help his friend Hiro regain his memories, Ando injected himself with a syringe of Mohinder's formula. It gave him the ability to magnify the superpowers of others. He super-charged Daphne and they travelled back 16 years to rescue Hiro, allowing him to destroy the formula. In Volume 4, Ando rebelled against Hiro's ambitions for him to be a superhero. He and Hiro went on a quest to regain Hiro's lost powers, and as Hiro learned to accept Ando as an equal, Ando learned to accept his power. Together, Hiro and Ando saved those held in Building 26.

Season 4

Ando and Hiro suffered as Dial-a-Hero didn't have much success. Ando was devastated when Hiro admitted he was dying. Hiro went back in time and changed the moment when Kimiko started hating Ando - resulting in the present Ando being engaged to marry Kimiko. He eventually persuaded Hiro to tell Kimiko he was dying. Ando was relieved to find Hiro after his six-week disappearance but feared his brain tumour was getting worse. He finally realised that Hiro wanted him to solve his cryptic clues so they cracked the code and headed to Florida to discover more. Hiro lead Ando to an psychiatric hospital where they released Mohinder. Ando cured Hiro's scrambled mind and they teleported back to safety. Ando helped supercharge Hiro and teleport the Family away from Samuel, depriving Samuel of his power and saving New York
