SUPERPOWER: Her deadly tears were removed by Arthur
LOCATION: California
JOB: Unknown
FAMILY: Brother: Alejandro (deceased).
Season 2
Maya's ability was triggered when she was stressed, but she could willingly activate her power if she wished. Alejandro, her brother, had the ability to diffuse Maya's power. Maya and Alejandro were on the run from their home in the Dominican Republic, wanted by the law for mass murder. Maya panicked when Alejandro was captured by the police. Setting him free, the deadly duo hitched a ride with Derek and came across Gabriel Gray - or Sylar as he should have introduced himself. It didn't take long for Maya to fall under the charms of Gabriel, and he soon had her controlling her own power, without the aid of her brother. However, at the end of the season, to make sure Mohinder's vaccine worked, Sylar decided to shoot Maya dead. She was brought back to life with the help of Claire's blood, which was a real eye opener for Sylar.
Season 3
Maya hooked up with Mohinder, and believed him to be the good guy. When she discovered people trapped inside cocoons in Mohinder's laboratory, she tried to reason with him but ended up being cocooned herself. Mohinder eventually took her to Pinehearst, where Arthur took away her power. However, not happy to be around a monster, she rejected Mohinder, telling him he should make amends.

Dania Ramirez moved with her family to New York City when she was ten years old. Always the performer, she was eager to make it in the entertainment business. Although she was discovered while working in retail, she started modelling and taking acting classes which eventually paid off.
Ramirez has come a long way from her native Dominican Republic, where her dreams of acting began. She made her film debut in Spike Lee's The Subway Stories, and has gradually built her career from there, appearing in X-Men: The Last Stand, Cross Bronx, and The Sopranos.
