Mohinder is a genetics professor from India. He came to New York to investigate the sudden death of his father, Chandra. Chandra was compiling a list of humans with special abilities. Mohinder continued his dad's research and discovered that one of the super humans, a man named Sylar, was killing the people on the list and absorbing their powers. He also killed Mohinder's father. Mohinder tries to warn the people on his father's list about Sylar.
Meanwhile, The Company try and get Mohinder to work with them and share information. They show Mohinder their method of tracking superhumans. It's a young girl called Molly Walker who has the ability to locate people. She could help find Sylar but her powers are being inhibited by the same neuro-degrading virus that killed Mohinder's sister Shanti Suresh. Mohinder manages to cure her by using antibodies found in his own blood. He later protects Molly from Mr Bennet, who wants to kill her and disable the tracking system in order to protect Claire. In the final episode of Season 1, Mohinder and the other heroes come together at Kirby Plaza and manage to stop Sylar.
In Season 2 Mohinder is in New York giving speeches about superhumans and a fatal virus that affects only these special beings. He's approached by a mysterious man named Bob who offers him a job at The Company. It doesn't take long for Bob to start manipulating Mohinder for the greater good. Armed now with a tazer and then a gun it would appear its just a matter of time before the prophecy comes true.
