"Mr. Bennet" or "Horn-Rimmed Glasses" is Claire's adoptive father. At first glance he's a businessman, who works for the Primatech Paper Company. But Primatech is a front for The Company, who investigate superhuman phenomena. He's responsible for capturing and running tests on the likes of Matt and Ted. It's not clear at the start of Season 1 which side he's on. But it soon becomes apparent that his priority is to protect his daughter Claire, even from The Company. Mr Bennet knows she can heal herself but tries to keep it quiet as he knows it will make her a target.
When he sees Isaac's paintings of Sylar killing Claire, he goes after Sylar. He ends up uniting with the other heroes in an attempt to stop both Sylar and The Company getting to Claire. He even instructs the Haitian to shoot him and erase his memory before taking Claire into hiding. When Mr Bennet and Matt track The Company's tracking device (Molly Walker) to Kirby Plaza, he's reunited with Claire for the finale in which Sylar is defeated and Peter explodes.
At the start of Season 2, the Bennet's are living as the Butlers in California. They are on the run from The Company and trying to keep a low profile. But Mohinder discovers the last painting in Isaac's series, showing H.R.G's death, and sure enough the prophecy comes true. In a true twist of fate The Company save H.R.G using Claire's blood, and this is the ironic part, how will he ever repay them?
