Season 4

We first met Samuel at his brother Joseph's funeral, giving an impassioned speech about redemption. He led a family of people with abilities, who lived at Sullivan Bros Carnival. Samuel's dark side soon crept out as he used his ability to violently force Edgar to hunt down and murder Danko. He then started to track down our Heroes. Starting with Hiro, he manipulated him into changing the past. Putting him on a path that he believed would lead Hiro to join the carnival. Next, Samuel went after Peter, confessing to Lydia that Peter could be the next Joseph. He'd also set in motion a plan to entrap Claire, using Rebecca, a teenager with the ability to turn invisible. Continuing his plan, he welcomed Sylar's amnesiac body into the group, and then created a set of events that he hoped would reawaken the real Sylar within. It worked and Sylar began to realise the true extent of his powers. Samuel turned his attentions to Tracy and Jeremy (the healer boy) offering them a great life as part of the family. After Jeremy's death Samuel used his power to destroy the police department as an act of revenge. When Arnold died Samuel needed the powers of a time traveller and sought out Hiro. Tricking him into believing he had Hiro's sweetheart Charlie, Samuel got Hiro to time travel back to his Carnival. Here Samuel discovered the truth about his powers from an old film that belonged to Mohinder's father. It was also revealed that he had killed his brother and that he was really after H.R.G and was using Claire as bait. After having convinced Claire to come and visit, he continued with his master plan to recruit more people with special powers. He persuaded Emma to help find a homeless man with regenerative powers. This man would prove the key to helping Samuel achieve his dream. His plan finally started coming together when he managed to bring Vanessa, the love of his life, to the carnival by kidnapping her. However, he failed to convince her to stay. So Vanessa returned home, leaving behind a heart-broken and dangerous Samuel. Realising that he needed to win back his Family's trust he arranged for someone to open fire on the Carnival - framing H.R.G as the murderer of Lydia. Uniting the family with a common enemy, he buried H.R.G and Claire underground, and moved the family to New York to show the world how powerful he was. Having forced Emma to draw thousands of innocent people to the New York Carnival, his plan was thwarted when the family turned against him, leaving him powerless.
