The stories posted on this page were gathered at special Rural Learning and Open Day events held at Berrington Hall on April 16th and 17th 2005, and Hanbury Hall on April 23rd and 24th.
During the war the Berrington Hall was used as both a US Officers mess and a hospital.
Similar events also took place at the Brockhampton Estate near Bromyard on 7th 8th May, and Croome Park near Pershore 21st 22nd May and stories from those venues have also been posted here.
At these open days, displays and activities related to wartime were on offer, providing an interesting time for both young and not so young!
The Worcestershire Library Services Comput@bus ( A mobile IT training unit )was used to connect to the internet and help was provided for people wishing to enter their stories.
