Name: Cord Roy (although almost universally known as Nick)
Age: 23yrs
Job: Web/graphic designer/video editor
Years Surfing: Habitat: Years?! I can still count the number of times I've been surfing!
Boards: 1
Quiver: 6'5" Gulfstream custom, bought 2nd hand. I'm told she's surfed all over the world.
Local Break: Gennith I guess, unless you count the Severn Bore.
Places Surfed: Gower, North Devon, Cornwall. I was living in Bournemouth but never surfed there. Bloody channel swells why I oughta...
Favourite Surf Films: Saw a documentary on Discovery Adventure about the worlds biggest waves. It went round all of them, Cortez Bank, Jaws, Mavericks etc. Awesome! Oh and Blue Crush (the sequel!see how I slipped that in at the end so you wouldn't notice).
Worst Wipeout: Stupidly getting caught between two breaking waves at right angles to each other. It was fun though as I clung onto the board and it sucked me under like the bit in 'The World Is Not Enough' when Bond submerges his little black boat. Unlike Bond however, I had no time to straighten my tie as I did a super spin cycle.
Favourite Manoeuvre: Waxing my board
Worst Surfing Habit: I have to go with the swallowing sea water too and freaking out everytime someone says the word shark
Best Surfing Experience: Bucking the trend here (cause I wasn't actually surfing). Sitting on the pebble beach at high tide at Godrevy watching a couple of friends surfing with the sun setting behind them. Oh and catching my first proper ride! (see top pic).
Weirdest Surfing Experience: almost being blindsided by a windsurfer doing mach 2.
Other Interests: I'm a budding filmmaker and scriptwriter, (see pic with poster of my documentary in background - serious film, serious face!) gently building up the contacts and experience before the big time beckons. Also enjoy Rugby - Llanelli supporter, most other sports, being lazy, playing PS2 'Kelly Slaters Pro Surfer' and trying to fit square pegs in round holes.
