Places Surfed: Mainly Pembrokeshire/ Gower, although have surfed Ireland (Lahinch and Spanish Point), Scotland (Machiranish), US (Santa Cruz) and France (all over the West Coast)
Worst Wipeout: Probably in Broadhaven South on a really meaty 4ft day. Paddled into what initially looked like a reasonably makeable wave on my 9'6" (probably not advisable in the first place) which then jacked up and became a horrid beast that bowled out, resulting in me freefalling onto my board and then going through a particularly nasty rinse cycle that left me gasping for air and finally emerging onto the beach battered and bruised.
Favourite Manoeuvre: Getting up some real down the line speed on a clear face and coming off the lip...attempting to throw my 9'6" around a bit.
Worst Surfing Experience: Getting caught in a monster rip at Horton in my 1st year of surfing. Paddling till exhausted the getting caught inside by horrendous set, resulting in near death experience when board pirhouetted in the air and smashed down onto my chin..was then washed up onto rocks which I had to climb over to reach the beach, all the while being buffeted by surf.
Best Surfing Experience: Probably a January session in Abereiddy on an all day pass, surfing with two good mates with seals in the lineup. Clean 4ft waves....Nearly weeping thinking about it.
Other Interests: motorbiking, watching rugby playing with my 5yr old son, Musician: guitar, harmonica and singer.
